Why
are Threads Inc. Gages Better ?

All "catalog item" thread working plug gages are chrome plated. Chrome
plating provides a more durable and "slippery"
surface which reduces wear on the threads. Much superior to non-plated steel.

Thread
ring gages are all manufactured from graphic tool steel which has a high carbon
content and hard carbides for extra wear resistance. Part of the carbon content
is in the form of graphite particles which are non-galling and provide
lubrication of the gaging surface. Much superior to normal steel.

All thread setting plugs are precision lapped which provides excellent quality
surface finishes on thread flanks, which translates into extra wear life.

Thread ring gage minor diameters are ground concentric to the thread pitch
diameter within .0002" on all sizes 1/4" and larger, not lapped like
most other manufacturers. Lapping in this case causes an exocentric condition.

All gages are subjected to two stabilization cycles to prevent any
"creep" in the size of the gage

All gages are built to the high side of the tolerance to allow for wear.

All pages are 100% inspected for major diameter, progressive lead error, helix
deviation, and flank angle integrity.
The
result is a superior gage at moderate prices!
